Box Control - A Collection of Boxed Personalities

June 23rd, 2008 by Cole13

Box Control

“Throw together a custom made box, some folks you’ve never met, a handful that you know, a few you would like to know and a pinch of unexpected: you get what I fondly refer to as Box Control.”

Started working on the new art collection called Box Control. The series will consist of a year’s worth of photos taken in a specially designed box and will wrap up with a gallery show and book. I hope to have a gallery chosen by the end of 2008 and will announce more details as they come.

Twisted Sister Sneak Peak

April 26th, 2008 by Cole13

Twisted Sister Series

Currently working on a series called “Twisted Sister”. And that’s just a working title for the time being. Think “woman escapes from asylum - kidnaps sister - ties sister to train track”. It’s a nod to the old silent films and their inclusion of the beautiful protagonist vs. the evil protaganist. At this stage I am still working on the final post production stage. At the small tweak stage.

Here’s a bit of what’s been going on lately.

Work for my solo show is really shaping up, I am about halfway complete with the body of work and am really pleased with the outcome thus far. The show will be at Artchitecture Gallery in Cleveland, OH and I urge anyone who digs my stuff to try and make it out, It will not disappoint.

Check out the space at http://www.artchitecturegallery.com

Second, My work is going to be featured in the upcoming issue of Case Magazine and I also designed a limited edition screenprint that will come with select issues. Please throw support towards Case, they have been super supportive of numerous artists and are really doing something great for the scene. The issue will also include Bask, Sage Francis, Gary Baseman as well as numerous other features.

I was invited by one of my biggest artistic influences: Bask, to participate in a group show he is curating themed around The Warriors movie. Anyone who knows me is aware of how into The Baseball Furies I am, so being asked to be a part of this show by him was a huge honor and accievement to me. More on the actual show as info comes in. However, Bask was recently featured in a killer magazine called REDEFINE. He had a killer write up as well as the cover illustration. Throw some support their way, they are fighting the independant fight.

Sasquatch vs. Cole13

March 1st, 2008 by Cole13

Soul StealerOk, so maybe not ‘versus’. Perhaps better stated as ’sweet collaboration’. Toby Sasquatch brings the mad skills to lay down a little color on top of a Josh Cole13 original photography. He calls it like it is. Soul STEALER — Raven Theory Collaboration baby!
